The Rose Group, Ltd.: Special Needs Golf Outing

The Rose Group Sponsors Annual Golf Outing Benefiting Special Needs Children for fourth year – All are Welcome September 17, 2007

NOTE - New Venue - Now at the Exclusive TPC River's Bend

TO GET A REGISTRATION FORM!

The Rose Group is proud to announce that it is the Presenting Sponsor for the fourth year of the Fourth Annual Golf Outing benefiting The Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Center for Infants with Special Needs.

A Group organized by parents of the area’s most medically fragile children have teamed with The Center for Infants and Children with Special Needs, a division of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. The Group is holding a golf outing fundraiser at the exclusive Tournament Players Club at River's Bend on September 17, 2007. According to Ron Levin, MD, the Center’s Director, the fundraiser is needed to help offset costs the Center has for keeping critically and chronically ill children and young adults “well’.

“The irony is that if we do our job well, we keep our patients out of the hospital. Avoiding hospitalizations is the result of good medical practice but unfortunately causes a shortfall of revenues” says Levin, an affable, caring man.

The Center is highly successful in the treatment of its patients. The golf outing helps to support needed resources such as additional physicians and staff, better coordination of patient care and respite options for patients and their families.

Levin and his staff manage the care of the tri-state’s most medically-complex young people, numbering approximately 550 patients. This is a 15% increase over last year and is a direct result of previous outings. Golfer generosity has enabled the Clinic to hire an additional physician, a social worker and a part-time nurse. The Center is the largest of its kind anywhere and the only Center in the region that provides care to such patents.

Making needed resources available and support of Center are the motivations that mobilized the parents Group to action.

The Parents Group organized 4 years ago and immediately agreed on the golf outing fundraiser as a way to show its support. Rose Group President, Eugene Rose is a member of the Group. Rose said “the parents saw the need, we got organized and just ‘came together’ to support the Center. Without the Center, none of our kids would have the care they need to live.” Other members of the Group agree that each of their children are treated as if they are the Center’s only patient. Over the past three years, the golf outing has netted more than $135,000 to benefit the Center, making The Rose Group outing the most efficient and successful of any held to benefit Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

Registration for the event is going on now. Activities begin at 11 AM on September 17th, followed by Lunch, 18 holes of Golf, Awards Dinner Banquet and all-day silent auction. A few other ‘surprises’ including celebrity guest appearances (Anthony Munoz, former Cincinnati Bengals Offensive Lineman; Basketball Great Oscar "THE BIG O" Robertson; Michael Flannery, WCPO-TV9 Personality[all scheduled to appear]) and live auction of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will also happen. Bill DeLord Cadillac of Lebanon, OH has generously agreed to be a hole-in-one sponsor on the 16th hole and is offering several other opportunities such as Hilton Head vacations on every-other Par 3 hole; also Mr. DeLord has donated a foursome of 18-holes of golf at the TPC as a silent auction item. One-hundred percent of the profits from the event will go to the benefit of The Center for Infants and Children with Special Needs. Everybody is invited to participate in the event. Individual golfers may register for the all-inclusive outing for $250; foursomes are $1000. Other sponsorship opportunities are also still available ranging from $1,500 to $10,000. The public is welcome, at no charge, to bid on silent auction items beginning at 11 AM and ending after dinner. Those wishing only to attend dinner may do so for $50 per person. Contributions in any amount are welcome and are tax deductible to the donor. Please contact us or Della Sokol at The Center for Infants and Children with Special Needs at (513) 636-3000 for registration and further details.
